People first, produce second. Crafting a brand identity for a local community garden that celebrates the imperfect.
When was the last time you stepped out of your comfort zone? Better yet—when did you last learn something new, strike up a conversation with a stranger, and through the awkwardness of figuring things out together, find a friend?

Grow celebrates the wonky carrot and the lopsided pumpkin—because those imperfections carry the mark of human hands. The flaws aren’t accidental; they’re the whole point.
The Grow Collective’s first community garden in Forrest Hill has flourished, becoming a vibrant hub of local activity. It has hosted events, working bees, regular community dinners, and hands-on workshops, engaging over 100 local residents across multiple generations. People have come together to connect, contribute, and learn in a welcoming, collaborative environment.

The Grow Collective is now expanding its reach across Auckland, already supporting and managing several other community gardens under its care.
“Grow Forrest Hill is a community garden, full of delicious fruit and veggies. But we hope to grow more than just that. Our dream is to grow a beautiful space, a space to learn about gardening, eat wonderful food, grow our community and get to know our neighbours.”
